Looks great! I love what they’ve done, and what they’ve got in the works sounds cool too! There are gonna be more featured characters and some games, including a “Woola Racer” game. 🙂 It’s going to be tough to keep up with a critter that can run at 250 mph.
I appreciate that the first paragraph of the “About the Film” page mentions Edgar Rice Burroughs, an inclusion that should comfort some people who are concerned that ERB isn’t getting his due at this stage in the marketing. I will be curious to see if/how/when they include ERB in a future trailer. Having a narrator suddenly give a history lesson spiel sounds a bit clunky to me, though I don’t know how else they’d accomplish it in a trailer. At least the websites will celebrate ERB! And they even have ERB in the movie itself, so I, for one, am not worried about the homage factor.
Interesting that the site mentions that calots have ten legs, but I’ve only seen six of them on Woola. Does he have two more legs hidden somewhere?
All around great site!
P.S. The “About the Film” blurb ends with saying that “the screenplay is being written by Stanton, Andrews and Chabon”. I think someone grabbed that from an old article. I suspect they’ll update it before too long.

Err… with Woola, “two more SETS of legs hidden somewhere?”

I have posted a picture on barsoomias facebook page, showing that you can see a seventh leg in the woola pic we have all seen thus far 😀

They’re under his body. I designed that for a banth and it was in a portfolio they saw. One of the artist’s ( David Krentz ) told me that “I’d hit on some the same ideas” – I’ll just go with that being my own little contribution in my little mind.
I’m not one of the ERB promoters either. I love that he’s in the film, but I don’t get the obsession, it’s not going to sell the movie to anyone. I figure it’s just their issue. It seems to be important to the grumpy old crowd.

I am in love with the little tidbits of information they give
like the idea that jeddaks wear white ape fur mantles
now that little piece of trivia is going to be stuck in my brain forever
I wonder if they will make an expanded universe based on these movies, if they do . . . I hope that they dont forget the other books
