  1. Willem Dafoe talked about the relationship between Tars Tarkas and Tal Hajus:

    “There’s an interesting relationship with Tal Hajus because he’s sort of my second in command and is always challenging my decisions. He’s always nipping at my heels trying to see if he can take over the Thark nation.”

    Tars Tarkas rise to power in the first book was a good plotline. I hope story of Sola being his daughter stayed intact.

      Interestingly enough, this basically means Tal Hajus’ storyline, is Tars Tarkas’ storyline from the books . . .

      just think about that for a moment

    Cool! I hope a lot of people read this interview, and the ones with Stanton, Kitsch and Collins. The stuff that Defoe said about the source material toward the end of the interview is great and exactly what the uninitiated need to hear.
